About Tokyo Side Trips

Tokyo Side Trips covers one thing: trips you can make from Tokyo in a day or with one night away, starting with Kamakura, Enoshima, Hakone and Yokohama. It is written for first-time and second-time visitors who are staying in Tokyo and want to know whether a place is worth it, how to get there, what it costs and what to book.

How the guides are made

• Prices, opening hours, last entry times and train fares are taken from official operator pages only. Each article lists its sources with the date they were checked.
• First-hand details (how long something really took, how crowded it was, photos) come from my own visits. Where I have not been yet, I say so rather than make it up.
• Photos are my own.
